Getting the root cause of your pain and fixing it is the key to living pain-free. At South Lake Wellness & Injury Center in Clermont, FL, we will diagnose you and alleviate your pain. We're committed to helping patients live healthy lives.

One of the most common causes of body pain is poor posture and ergonomics. This pain is preventable and can be treated by our chiropractor.

Proper Posture

Proper posture involves standing up straight with your shoulders pulled back and a slight inward curve at the base of your lower back. Ideal posture is difficult to achieve unless practiced regularly.

To work on your posture, try propping yourself up against a wall with your shoulder blades and rear end touching the wall. The heels of your feet should be about three inches from the edge of the wall. Your hand should barely fit between the wall and your lower back. If not, move your belly one way or the another until you can feel your back on your hand and your hand on the wall.

Maintaining this ideal position can help increase blood flow to your organs and reduce backaches, neck strain, and headaches.

Proper Ergonomics

Ergonomics has to do with how efficient you are in your working environment, along with the repetitive motions you'll be performing. Proper workplace ergonomics will help you avoid pain and work injuries.

If you sit at a desk all day, it is important to do so properly. Your feet should be touching the floor or supported by a footrest. Your back and legs should be at roughly 90-degree angles while sitting. Your eyes should be level with your monitor, and you should be sitting about 25-30 inches from it. Your arms should be resting comfortably, at least at a 90-degree angle, with your elbows while at a keyboard.

Incorrect posture while working can lead to neck pain, back pain, or carpal tunnel syndrome.
